About
Designed by Sara Barcons, TPM (Types per Minute) originates from an experimental research project in which each variable axis represented a vital sign from a pulse oximetry sensor: dot weight for body temperature, horizontal spacing for oxygen saturation, and slant for heart rate. The typeface comprises eight static styles across light and bold weights in condensed and extended widths, each with italics, plus a variable font covering the full three-axis range. The dot matrix aesthetic makes it well suited to branding, packaging and screen work where a technological or data-driven character is appropriate.
