UNKNOWN Typeface specimen from 6TM Magazine

A grid-derived display typeface in three stylistic cuts — RND, PX and MX — with organic character variation and extensive alternate glyphs.

About

Designed by Lukas Haider and Alexander Raffl, UNKNOWN draws its structure from a linear grid system while introducing enough variation across individual characters to keep the overall texture feeling organic rather than mechanical. Three distinct styles — RND, PX and MX — give designers flexibility, with additional alternates accessible via uppercase and lowercase switching. At 375 glyphs, it covers diacritics, symbols, currency and mathematics, making it well suited to editorial, artwork and identity projects.

Classification

The typeface is built from a linear grid system with organic character variation across three stylistic cuts, placing it firmly in the geometric display category.
