Bermondsey Sans

A mechanically constructed sans inspired by stone-carved lettering on a South London building, with lowercase and numerals invented to complement the distinctive uppercase source material.
About
Drawn from the carved lettering on St. Saviour's House in Bermondsey, the uppercase carries the engineered simplicity of its architectural source. The lowercase letters, numerals and punctuation are A2-Type's own invention, built from details observed in the capitals rather than borrowed from any typographic tradition. Available in five weights from Regular to Black, it suits display and identity work where a slightly idiosyncratic, place-specific character is wanted.
Classification
Described as mechanical and inspired by stone-carved lettering, Bermondsey Sans has a constructed, engineered quality that places it squarely in the geometric sans tradition, with uppercase letterforms driving the overall character.
