Eyes Lies specimen from A2-Type

A single-weight all-caps display face created for the Hayward Gallery's 2004 'Eye, Lies and Illusions' exhibition, drawing on Op Art and pre-cinematic optical devices.

About

Designed in 2004 alongside A2-Type's Archi typeface for the Hayward Gallery show, it takes its visual cues from optical toys and devices shown in the exhibition as well as the Op Art movement. The result is a headline-only face, uppercase throughout, suited to short bursts of display text where visual tension is wanted. A single Regular weight is available with no italic or condensed variants.

Classification

A single-weight all-caps display face drawn from Op Art and pre-cinematic optical devices, with no text weight or italic — purely a headline and display typeface.
