Grot10 Condensed specimen from A2-Type

A condensed mini-family drawn from A2-Type's revival of Stephenson Blake's Grotesque No.10, originally commissioned for the RIBA Journal in 2013.

About

Three weights of condensed grotesque — Light, Medium and Bold — derived from the Grot10 family, itself a contemporary reworking of Stephenson Blake's Sheffield-made Grotesque No.10. The cuts were first designed for the Royal Institute of British Architects' members magazine, Riba J, giving them a grounding in editorial use at tight column widths. The wider Grot10 family has since grown to include Semibold, Extrabold and Black, but the Condensed remains a compact standalone sub-family.

Classification

Directly derived from Stephenson Blake's Grotesque No.10, a classic British grotesque series; the condensed cuts follow the same upright, workhorse grotesque tradition.
