sans-serifinscriptional sans
MVSEVM specimen from A2-Type

A five-weight sans inspired by hand-carved Roman imperial capitals, pairing a historically grounded uppercase with a contemporary lowercase designed to match.

About

The uppercase draws on carved lettering from the Roman empire, giving the family a stately, monumental quality distinct from conventional grotesque or humanist models. A lowercase has been designed to sit alongside the historically informed caps without feeling anachronistic. Five weights from Regular to Black make it usable across both headline and text settings.

Classification

A sans-serif whose uppercase draws directly from Roman imperial carved letterforms, giving it an inscriptional character that sits outside conventional grotesque or humanist classification. The lowercase is a contemporary companion designed to harmonise with the historically derived caps.
