Schwiss

A 14-style grotesque that draws on Akzidenz-Grotesk and Helvetica, retaining closed apertures and a large x-height in a clean, monolinear package.
About
Seven weights from Thin to Black, each with a matching italic, built around the visual grammar of the two dominant European modernist grotesques. Closed C, G and S forms, square punctuation and monolinear strokes give it a familiar utilitarian character without being a direct revival of either source. Aimed at designers who want the reassurance of the grotesque tradition with a slightly fresher set of curves.
Classification
Explicitly modelled on Akzidenz-Grotesk and Helvetica, two canonical European grotesques; monolinear strokes, closed apertures, and large x-height place it firmly in the grotesque tradition.
