Typewriter specimen from A2-Type

A digital typewriter face drawn from a single type proof produced by a discarded Olivetti Lettera 22, expanded into three weights with matching italics.

About

The starting point was a found type proof from an Olivetti Lettera 22 left behind in the A2-Type studio, which the foundry used as reference to build a distinctive digital typewriter family. The result goes well beyond mere digitisation: the glyph set has been enlarged, the family extended to Regular, Medium and Bold, and complementary italic styles added throughout. The monospaced character and mechanical texture of the original machine are preserved, making it well suited to editorial work that calls for an authentic typewritten register.

Classification

A digitised typewriter face derived directly from an Olivetti Lettera 22 specimen, with the fixed-pitch, monospaced character common to typewriter-style fonts.
