Paul Elliman developed this piece in the early 2000s from a desire to contact Josef Albers directly, adding the words YES, NO and DON'T KNOW to Albers's original Bauhaus modular stencil design from 1926. The edition takes the form of a 16-inch square glass panel, referencing the glass studio workshops Albers ran at the Bauhaus. It occupies the boundary between typeface, artwork and object rather than functioning as a conventional text face.
