Designed by Sylvan Lanz and released in 2023, Bandit runs from Super-Compressed to Condensed, with the variable font spanning the full width range in a single file. Its reversed contrast, where horizontals are heavier than verticals, draws directly from North American wood type traditions while the modular construction reflects Swiss rational design of the 1930s. Three OpenType stylistic sets add Bauhaus letterforms, hairline accents and a monocase option with clipped descenders for tight leading.
