Tofino
Arcane Type Foundry · Alanna Munro · 2015

A neo-grotesque sans from Alanna Munro spanning four widths, nine weights and a dedicated text subfamily, with three-axis variable font support.
About
Designed by Alanna Munro and first published in 2015, Tofino draws on Swiss neo-grotesque tradition while introducing slightly squared letterforms and a looser quality the foundry attributes to its West Coast British Columbia origins. The family runs across Condensed, Narrow, Standard and Wide widths with up to Ultra weight, plus a separate Text subfamily optimised for small sizes. Two variable font files cover the full range via weight, width and italic axes, with OpenType features including small caps, oldstyle figures and fractions.
Classification
Tofino is explicitly described as a neo-grotesque sans serif in the Swiss International Style tradition, with slightly squared, condensed letterforms and a warmth that distinguishes it from strict Helvetica-like neutrality.
