New Grotesk
Archive Foundry · Sam Powell · 2019

A proportionally balanced neo-grotesque by Sam Powell with a restrained European character, released in five weights with italics and an extended mono variant.
About
Designed by Sam Powell and published in October 2019, this neo-grotesque draws on early modernist European grotesques to produce a neutral, functional typeface suited to a wide range of applications. Five weights run from Light to Bold, each with a matching italic, and an extended family includes New Grotesk Mono. The glyph set covers extensive Latin script support across dozens of languages, with stylistic alternates offering additional flexibility.
Classification
The foundry classifies it as neo-grotesque, with proportional balance and a classic European grotesk aesthetic drawing on early modernist forms.
