At Briega
Arillatype · Rubén Chumillas · 2024

A contemporary reworking of Charles Robert Ashbee's 1901 Endeavour typeface by Rubén Chumillas, extended with floral titling caps, discretionary ligatures and nearly 1,000 glyphs.
About
Originally conceived as a revival of Ashbee's Arts and Crafts-era Endeavour, the design has moved away from strict historical reproduction toward something more hybrid in character. The glyph set of 931 characters includes stylistic alternates, old-style figures, tabular figures and a set of decorative floral capitals that give it a strong titling personality. With only a single Regular weight, its appeal is centred on expressive editorial and branding contexts rather than multi-weight typesetting systems.
Classification
Rooted in Charles Robert Ashbee's 1901 Endeavour typeface, At Briega sits in the Arts and Crafts serif tradition with decorative ligatures, floral titling caps and a craft-inflected character that places it firmly in the ornamental serif subcategory.
