Developed from lettering drawn by Vinko Ožić-Pajić for Standard Konfekcija, the first fashion brand in Communist Yugoslavia, the design translates hand-drawn signage into a digital typeface offered in Medium and Bold Inline. The source material carries genuine historical specificity: a military fabric company turned fashion retailer, known for introducing plastic bags to the country, now vanished after the fall of Communism. Barnbrook named it after Orwell's concept from Nineteen Eighty-Four, pointing at the contradictions embedded in its origins and their resonance in contemporary surveillance culture.
