Born from Barnbrook's frustration with the sanitised symbolism of Olympic pictogram design, Olympukes reframes the sporting icons to acknowledge the greed, manipulation and skulduggery that characterise the modern Games. The name fuses 'olympics' and 'puke' as a blunt statement of intent. It sits firmly in the tradition of politically engaged graphic design, using the designer's own toolkit against the spectacle it normally serves.
