Bijou Type · 2023

A dot-matrix display typeface built from a modular grid system, traced back to unidentified lettering on the cover of an old adult magazine.
About
Constructed from a repeating grid of dots, the design originated from a small set of letters spotted on a vintage magazine cover, with the underlying system then expanded into a full typeface. Despite its seemingly simple modular logic, the dot grid grew complex enough to support around 505 languages, plus additional symbols for borders and patterns. Intended for large, solid headlines and titles, it suits display-only work where graphic weight and novelty are the priority.
Classification
A headline display typeface constructed from a grid of dots, derived from lettering on an old adult magazine cover. The modular dot system and headline-only intent place it firmly in the display category.
