A text serif from Binnenland with three optical subfamilies, distinguished by deliberately imbalanced serifs that simulate the distortions of mechanical printing pressure.
About
Korpus is organised into three subfamilies — A, B and C — each tuned to different optical sizes, with both upright and italic cuts. Its most distinctive feature is the calculated asymmetry between upstrokes and serifs, where diagonal tapers and angled links evoke the irregularities of print reproduction rather than correcting for them. Horizontally flattened joins on characters like a, d, m, n, r and u, alongside open terminals on C, E, F, G, S, T and Z, give the family a considered and slightly archaic texture suited to literary and long-form typesetting.
Classification
Korpus is a serif with distinctive imbalanced upstrokes and serifs, diagonally tapered brackets, and angled links simulating pressure-related print distortion, placing it within a considered transitional serif tradition with strong editorial character.
