Bluu Suuperstar specimen from Black Foundry

A brutalist serif by Jean Baptiste Morizot and Gaëtan Baehr that grafts sharp triangular wedge serifs and diamond dots onto a Garalde skeleton, with italics drawn on an independent calligraphic model.

About

The uprights retain the proportional rhythm of the Garalde tradition whilst serifs terminate in abrupt triangular wedges and dots resolve into diamonds, creating a typeface that reads both historically grounded and visually confrontational. Four static weights from Regular to Black are supplied alongside two variable fonts, covering a wide range from text to headline use. The italics are drawn independently from the uprights, following a dynamic calligraphic logic rather than simply slanting the roman forms.

Classification

Rooted in the Garalde tradition with high x-height and rhythmic structure, but distinguished by sharp triangular wedge serifs and diamond-shaped dots that push it firmly into brutalist display territory.
