Fat specimen from Black Foundry

An ultra-black display sans covering Latin and simplified Japanese Kana, built for posters, album covers and headlines requiring maximum visual weight.

About

Designed by Gaëtan Baehr and Li Yuxin, Fat exists at a single extreme weight with three-dimensional detailing, integrated accents and ligatures included to aid usability at large sizes. The family supports both Latin and simplified Japanese Kana, making it usable for bilingual brand work across Latin and Japanese scripts. Arrows, pictograms and emoji round out a glyph set aimed squarely at loud, attention-demanding applications.

Classification

A single-weight ultra-black sans designed exclusively for headline use, with extreme stroke thickness and three-dimensional detailing that places it firmly in the display category rather than a general-purpose sans.
