Dorival UI Condensed specimen from Blackletra

A condensed, DIN-influenced sans with multiplexed spacing, meaning all weights occupy identical space in the layout to prevent text reflow in digital interfaces.

About

Designed by Daniel Sabino and Lucas Gini, this is the condensed width of the Dorival UI family, released in 2024. Its defining technical feature is multiplexed spacing: every weight shares the same glyph widths and kerning, so switching weights in a UI never triggers layout shifts. The design tempers DIN 1451's strict geometry with diagonal terminals and a touch of contrast, keeping it readable across both screen interfaces and printed material.

Classification

Loosely derived from the engineered geometry of DIN 1451, with humanistic touches such as diagonal terminals and slight stroke contrast, placing it firmly in the geometric sans tradition.
