Amsterdam Grotesk
Blaze Type · Yann Esnault · 2025

A revival of a wood type grotesque sourced from a Brussels printing workshop, drawn with calligraphic terminal strokes and generous bowl forms across nine weights.
About
Designed by Yann Esnault and released in 2025, the family traces its origins to wooden type discovered at Unitype, an old Brussels workshop. The letterforms retain the idiosyncratic charm of their source material while being stabilised for contemporary use in editorial systems, signage and branding. All 18 styles are available as a variable font spanning weight and italic axes.
Classification
