Kyle specimen from Blaze Type

A contemporary monoline slab with typewriter origins, whose sharp triangular serifs grow in prominence and personality across seven weights.

About

Designed by Alexander Rütten and Olivia Wood and released in 2024, Kyle begins as a restrained typewriter-inflected slab at lighter weights before its triangular serifs take on increasing visual weight and character at bolder settings. The heavier styles are particularly suited to headline use, where the serifs give the letters a strong, distinctive footing. The family ships as 14 styles plus a variable font, with an extended Latin character set of over 800 glyphs covering Central, Eastern and Western European languages.

Classification

Kyle is described as a monoline serif with typewriter origins and sharp triangular serifs that shift character across weights, placing it firmly in the slab serif tradition despite its transition toward triangular extremities at heavier weights.
