Slussen Stencil specimen from Blaze Type

A stencil variant of Hugo Jourdan's Slussen neo-grotesque, built around simplified cutout letterforms drawn from the visual language of construction sites.

About

Eight weights from Thin to Black run across a variable font axis, with the stencil cuts giving each weight a distinct character at both small and large sizes. Designed specifically for signage contexts, the geometric letterforms with flat endings and angular outlines retain the structural logic of the wider Slussen system. Part of a larger type system that includes a standard grotesque, a monospace and a family spanning six widths and 104 styles.

Classification

A stencil variant of a neo-grotesque family, characterised by cutout letterforms and geometric construction. The stencil treatment places it firmly in the display category despite sharing structural DNA with the grotesque Slussen.
