Square specimen from Blaze Type

A monospaced geometric typeface by Raphaël Lefeuvre in which every glyph is constructed within an equal square, allowing vertical and horizontal reading and enabling optical layering across its 12 weights.

About

Designed around the conceptual constraint of a perfect square, the letterforms fill and empty from the inside as weights increase from UltraThin to Heavy, while maintaining the same outer contour throughout. Lefeuvre describes the lightest weight as tracing a park's perimeter, with heavier weights filling its surface inward. The fixed-pitch grid structure allows glyphs to be superimposed across weights, making it well suited to layered or animated display work.

Classification

Square is explicitly a monospaced font in which every glyph is constructed within a square grid, with geometric forms and consistent spacing across all weights. Its fixed-pitch, grid-based construction firmly places it in the mono category.
