Swirl specimen from Blaze Type

A single-weight outline display face by Đuc X Cao, drawn from the movement of a flat brush and reduced to an airy skeletal form.

About

Designed during study at Type West, the face began as a solid brush lettering study before being stripped back to its outlines, producing letterforms that are tapered at mid-strokes and flared at the ends. The result reads as bold in colour but light in texture, making it well suited to large headlines, book covers and packaging where a touch of calligraphic grace is wanted. Only one style exists, so its use case is fairly narrow, but within that register it performs with personality.

Classification

A single-weight outline display typeface derived from flat brush letterforms, with flared stroke ends and rounded forms; clearly intended for large-scale display use rather than text setting.
