Taklobo specimen from Blaze Type

A single-style heavy unicase display serif by Jad Maza, whose letterforms draw from the organic curves of Philippine giant clams.

About

Designed in 2022, this typeface takes its proportions and silhouettes from the giant clam, a protected mollusc native to Philippine waters. Ascenders are rejected in favour of a uniform cap-line-aligned unicase construction, producing a dense, majestic texture suited to splashy headlines and bold identity work. Available in a single Display style covering Latin European languages.

Classification

A heavy unicase display serif with a single style, designed with organic, bivalve-inspired curves and dense letterforms intended solely for large-scale headline use.
