About
Designed by Promphan 'Boom' Suksumek, this Thai extension of van Rosmalen's Bilo carries over the Latin's defining traits: low contrast, wide round shapes and the slightly pointy terminals that trace back to Bilo's origins as a sans-serif reinterpretation of Bodoni. Circular details echo native characteristics in letters such as Dochada and Thothan, while an alternate Sara-a glyph references Thai hand lettering conventions of the late 1950s and 60s. Stylistic alternates for Dodek, Totao and Ngongu allow a choice between rounder and more angular forms, giving the family flexibility across display and text sizes.
