Feisar
Bold Monday · Paul van der Laan · 2000

An outline typeface evolved from a 12-pixel bitmap UI font, blending 1970s sci-fi, 1980s gaming and 1990s techno aesthetics into a recognisable display face.
About
Originally designed as a pixel-grid bitmap font for a game interface, Feisar has been redrawn as a scalable outline family with five weights from ExtraLight to Bold. Paul van der Laan reinterpreted the pixel-grid constraints rather than simply tracing them, which gives the face its particular legibility at display sizes despite its retro-techno character. Best suited to titles, gaming interfaces and projects that need a deliberately period-coded digital flavour.
Classification
A display typeface derived from a 12-pixel bitmap UI font, drawing on science fiction, video gaming and techno culture aesthetics — firmly in the display category with a techno/pixel subcategory.
