Kristal
Bold Monday · Eyal Holtzman · 2021

A book serif by Eyal Holtzman with blade-like stroke endings and spirited italics, extended by an all-caps inline titling style and an Ornaments font.
About
Originating as a logotype sketch, Kristal grew into a family of eight styles across three weights, each with a distinctive italic whose acute terminals enliven extended text. The Open Caps style introduces an inline treatment suited to monumental lettering, covers and card designs, harmonising with the text weights while functioning independently. The family received a Type Directors Club Certificate of Typographic Excellence in 2022 and covers an extensive range of Latin-script languages.
Classification
Kristal is rooted in calligraphic tradition with acute, blade-like stroke endings that give it an expressive humanist character; the Open Caps inline titling style and spirited italics reinforce a calligraphically informed, display-capable serif.
