Nitti Mostro specimen from Bold Monday

An eighteen-style layerable display grotesque spun off from Nitti Grotesk, built for posters, signage and screen effects with sub-families covering Comic, Disco and Stencil treatments.

About

Built on the heaviest weights of Nitti Grotesk, this family strips ascenders and descenders short and tightens letter fit to maximise impact at large sizes. The eighteen styles are organised into four sub-families — Mostro, Comic, Disco and Stencil — each designed to layer together for colour, shading and animation effects. Nine monster pictograms drawn by Dirk Uhlenbrock round out the package, fitting it squarely in the 'Italo-American Grotesque' lineage Bold Monday has built around the Nitti series.

Classification

Derived from the heaviest weights of Nitti Grotesk and designed explicitly for display use with layerable styles including Solid, Shadow, Inline, Gradient, Chrome, Disco and Stencil variants; sits firmly in the display category as a decorative, effect-driven grotesque family.
