BS Resort Serif
Bolid System · Arthur Schwarz · 2025

A high-contrast serif by Arthur Schwarz that grafts hairline serifs onto a neo-grotesque skeleton, spanning ten weights with both a standard italic and an extreme 26-degree super italic.
About
Built on the same structural foundation as BS Resort Classic, the addition of hairline serifs pulls the design toward a sharper, more formal register without abandoning its constructed, methodical character. Thirty static styles run from Thin to Black, each offered in upright, italic at 13 degrees, and super italic at 26 degrees, with a two-axis variable font covering weight and slant. Alternate single-storey forms for the a and g, a curved-terminal l, and a straight-terminal t give designers granular control over the typeface's personality across different contexts.
Classification
High-contrast vertical stress with hairline serifs on a neo-grotesque skeleton places it squarely in the Didone tradition, though its constructed, geometric underpinning keeps it from feeling purely classical.
