Round
Bureau Brut · Yoann Minet · 2021

A geometric sans by Yoann Minet built on the tension between circle and square, using 45° bevelled terminals that read as rounded at small sizes but reveal sharp angles under scrutiny.
About
Designed by Yoann Minet and released by Bureau Brut in 2021, the typeface's defining move is in letters like b, d, p and q, where vertical strokes intersect rounded bowls at precise right angles with bevelled corners rather than true curves. At distance or small sizes the bevels resolve optically into softness; close up the geometry asserts itself. The collection extends to Round Condensed and Round Ultra, giving 42 styles in total across the three subfamilies, suited to logotypes, brand identities and extended text.
Classification
A geometric sans distinguished by bevelled 45° stroke terminals on rounded letterforms, creating an optical illusion of roundness at small sizes while retaining angular geometry up close. The construction principle — squares and circles in deliberate tension — places it firmly in the geometric sans tradition.
