Super
BurnType · Michael Bagnardi · 2019
An all-capitals display pair from BurnType channelling 1970s and 80s science fiction through two ultra-sharp, sleek cuts: Super Seventy and Super Eighty.
About
Drawing from Sorayama, Frazetta, Barbarella and Blade Runner, Super reduces letterform to pure razor-edged geometry suited to loud, large-scale display work. Both cuts share an all-capitals frame with 218 glyphs and discretionary ligatures for common pairings such as es, mm, rs and ks, expanding typographic texture within a deliberately limited glyph set. Latin language support covers a broad range of African and European languages despite the display-only brief.
Classification
An all-capitals display typeface with ultra-sleek, razor-edged construction explicitly referencing 1970s and 80s sci-fi and futurist aesthetics. Available in two distinct cuts named Seventy and Eighty. No lowercase, no italic.
