Anto Plot Lab
b•v-h type · André Baldinger & Toan Vu-Huu · 2022

Two experimental display styles derived from the angular Anto Plot geometric sans, designed by André Baldinger and Toan Vu-Huu.
About
Grown from a family originally commissioned for the contemporary art centre Bétonsalon in Paris, the Lab styles push the angular geometry of Anto Plot into more speculative territory. Each of the two styles ships with 818 glyphs, covering an extensive range of Latin languages alongside a full set of figure styles, fractions, circled and framed numbers, and alternate arrows via OpenType Stylistic Sets. Assisted by Jimmy Le Guennec and Fanny Hamelin, the pair designed the Lab in 2018 with a public release in 2022.
Classification
The Lab styles are described as experimental offshoots of the Anto Plot geometric sans, voluntarily angular in construction and derived from early brutal sans-serif proportions; their experimental nature places them firmly in the display category.
