Gräbenbach
Camelot · Wolfgang Schwärzler

A grotesque sans by Wolfgang Schwärzler that draws on early grotesque typefaces and brush-painted sign lettering across four weights with matching italics and a companion mono family.
About
Designed by Wolfgang Schwärzler, the typeface takes early grotesque forms as its starting point and layers in details drawn from hand-painted signs, producing a cut that sits between the crispness of digital drawing and the irregularity of hand work. Four weights from Regular to Black each come with a true italic, while a separate Gräbenbach Mono extends the family to five monospaced weights. A broad OpenType feature set includes alternate single-storey and double-storey forms for 'a' and 'g', alongside case-sensitive forms, fractions and tabular figures.
Classification
Inspired by early grotesque typefaces with details borrowed from brush-painted signs, blending the precision of digital design with hand-drawn warmth — a clear grotesque lineage with humanist inflections.
