Designed by Thomas Schostok for the corporate image of a German intelligence agency, CA BND draws on the austere tradition of DIN typefaces, with an unemotional but quietly detailed character the foundry describes as a dangerous functionalism. The family runs to five styles: Regular, Bold, Alternate Regular, Alternate Bold and a Trash cut, the last introducing a distressed texture to the otherwise controlled forms. Western Latin encoding covers standard European language needs.
