About
Designed by Mateusz Machalski, Borys Kosmynka, Przemysław Hoffer and Ania Wieluńska, the project revives a typeface most likely produced by the Warsaw-based Type Foundry Idźkowski and Co. during the interwar period. The original three cuts — regular, italic and bold — were extended with semibold and bold italic variants to broaden practical use, while the glyph set was greatly expanded to include extended Latin and Cyrillic, basic Greek, IPA, four figure styles, small caps and a wide set of ornaments. Produced with support from the Polish President's office and the 'Independent' cultural programme, it honours a largely forgotten chapter of Polish typographic history.
