About
Ania Wieluńska spent over two years researching and digitising the typefaces commissioned for Jan Januszowski's orthographic reform publication of 1594, extending the original character sets to cover Western, Central and South-Eastern European Latin. The family pairs two historicising cuts based directly on Januszowski's own italic designs with a Regular drawn from the antiqua he used for Latin texts, and a Fraktur derived from the Mytel Polski. Italic includes decorative stylistic sets; Regular carries ornaments and pointing hands. The diploma project received a rector's distinction at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and was exhibited at Coming Out 2017.
