A careful digitisation of Adam Półtawski's 1928 Antykwa Półtawskiego, grounded in archival research across specimen books, punch drawings and Monotype punches held at the Type Archive London.
About
The project reconstructs the most recognised Polish typeface design using primary sources: scans of the Idźkowski i S-ka foundry specimen book alongside punch patterns and punches produced by Monotype in Salfords between 1934 and 1955. The digital version standardises character forms and balances typographic rhythm while preserving the ornamental character of the original, and extends the base character set with small caps, multiple number variants and a full suite of OpenType features. It is intended for text setting between 10 and 18 pt and is released under an open font licence.
