AM Futurismo
CAST · Alessandro Bombieri · 2025

A digital revival of a circa-1930 Italian wood type, built from circles, triangles and rectangles with slightly rounded edges and deliberately retained idiosyncrasies.
About
Originally produced by Xilografia Ruggero Zuliani of Verona, the source material was coarse and inconsistent; Bombieri has regularised the terminals and refined numerals while preserving the organic irregularity of characters like C, G and Q. The counterless all-caps construction sits on basic geometric primitives, but unexpected thick/thin contrast on strokes such as the stem of P gives it a character absent from more clinical geometric revivals. Well suited to headlines, posters and any context where Italian Futurist graphic energy is appropriate.
Classification
A counterless all-caps geometric sans built from circles, triangles and rectangles with slight rounding and unexpected thick/thin contrast; its single weight, all-caps nature and wood-type revival origin place it firmly in display rather than text use.
