CAST · Antonella Sartorelli · 2025

A revival of a pre-war Italian wood type by Xilografia di Verona, redrawn and optically corrected by Antonella Sartorelli with a stark 9-degree incline and extreme thick/thin contrast.
About
Based on a wood type original released by Xilografia di Verona before World War II, this single-weight geometric sans carries a 9-degree angle throughout and restricts each character to a single thick stroke, except M. Refinements for this revival include standardised thick/thin modulation, redrawn numerals and ampersand, and three OpenType stylistic sets offering normal, long and looped ascenders and descenders. The looped variant bears a close resemblance to the early Agfa logo from around 1925, suggesting a possible common source.
Classification
A geometrically constructed sans-serif with extreme thick/thin contrast and a consistent 9-degree incline throughout, placing it firmly in the display category as a revival of a pre-war Italian wood type modernist face.
