A digital revival of a 1930s Italian wood type, fusing joined-up script with strict geometric construction derived from circular proportions.
About
Originally released by Xilografia di Verona between 1937 and 1939, the source wood type combined handwriting forms with rationalist geometry at almost 45-degree entry and exit strokes. Valentina Casali's revival preserves the original lowercase, adds a new condensed uppercase derived from the original figures, and uses OpenType contextual logic to smooth the letter connections that were imperfect in the historical source. A Circular O alternate is offered via stylistic sets.
Classification
A joined-up script with strictly geometric construction based on circular proportions and no thick-thin contrast, derived from an Italian wood type original. The rationalist geometry and connecting strokes place it firmly in the geometric script category.
