Burghi
CAST · Fabrizio Falcone, Alex Bossi · 2022

A chubby variable display face by Fabrizio Falcone and Alex Bossi, inspired by the logo of Burghy, Italy's first American-style fast-food chain, and the paninari subculture of 1980s Milan.
About
Fat, rounded letterforms evoke the graphic language of early fast-food branding, with the design rooted in the consumer hedonism of Milan's paninari youth culture. As a variable font it offers two optical size variants: tight, near-microscopic counters for use above 40pt and slightly wider counters for smaller settings down to 20pt. The character set includes three fast-food emojis and a bagel counters stylistic set, giving it a playful range suited to joyful or tongue-in-cheek communication.
Classification
A chubby, rounded variable display face with optical size variants; its exaggerated weight and smooth letterforms place it firmly in the fat face / rounded display category, designed for large-scale decorative use.
