Macho Moustache
CAST · Luciano Perondi · 2017

A grotesque companion to Macho Modular by Luciano Perondi, distinguished by tight apertures on key letters and designed around Stefan Themerson's concept of semantic typography.
About
Where Macho Modular takes an open approach, Macho Moustache pulls in the apertures on a, c, e and s to follow the tighter conventions of the grotesque tradition, while retaining the shared modular widths and letterforms of the Macho family. Five weights from Thin to Bold are offered in upright and slanted cuts, along with variable font versions of each. The family carries an extensive set of OpenType features including multiple stylistic sets, full figure variants and modular brackets and underlinings conceived for semantic typographic use.
Classification
Shares modular construction with its sibling Macho Modular but adopts the Grotesque tradition of tight apertures on a, c, e and s, placing it firmly in the grotesque sans-serif category.
