New Cordial
CAST · Riccardo Olocco · 2026

A redesign and expansion of Riccardo Olocco's 2008 all-caps display face Cordial, now with a full lowercase, five weights and an inline bold, informed by the convergence of Italian Stile Liberty and early European Modernism.
About
Originally designed for Veer and unavailable since 2012, the typeface has been substantially reworked: the capitals are refined, a complete lowercase introduced and diacritic coverage extended across European languages. Distinctive details include a curved stem on A, egg-shaped round letters with a low centre of gravity, a narrow S and slightly slanted second stems on h, n, a and m. Alternate forms for a, g, u and y offer more conventional or more characterful options, and an inline Bold variant adds a decorative register suited to poster and titling work.
Classification
A geometric display face with organic, sinuous detail rooted in Italian Art Nouveau ('Stile Liberty') and early Modernist influences, placing it firmly in the display category rather than a structural text classification.
