FF Dingbats 2.0
Character Type · Johannes Erler, Henning Skibbe · 2009

A comprehensive symbol font family of over 1,000 pictographic glyphs, revised and expanded in 2009 from Johannes Erler's original 1993 FF Dingbats release for FontFont.
About
Originally conceived in 1993 as the first wide-ranging dingbats family since Zapf Dingbats, the 2009 revision by Erler and Henning Skibbe overhauled the set to reflect a changed technological landscape, dropping obsolete symbols and adding new ones. The result spans twelve thematic sub-families covering human figures, technics, office objects, arrows, geometric forms, stars, and more, totalling upwards of 1,000 glyphs. It remains a practical and historically grounded resource for designers needing a systematic pictographic system.
Classification
A pictorial symbol font composed entirely of non-alphabetic glyphs organised into thematic sets; best classified as display given its purely decorative and functional pictographic purpose rather than any text-setting role.
