Aujournuit
Collletttivo · Teo Gaudet · 2024

A variable display typeface by Teo Gaudet drawing on calligraphic letterforms and the look of runny ink, spanning from very condensed to very wide.
About
Inspired by a 1956 French magazine title, Aujournuit stretches from an extremely condensed to a very wide setting via a variable width axis, with five named styles including an Airy variant. Its letterforms carry the looseness of calligraphy and wet ink, and the family includes all zodiac signs as supplementary glyphs. Released under the SIL Open Font Licence, it is free to download from Collletttivo.
Classification
A variable display typeface with calligraphic roots and organic, ink-like forms. Its expressive, atmospheric character and extreme width range place it firmly in the display category rather than text or script.
