Ronzino specimen from Collletttivo

A free neo-grotesque by Luigi Gorlero and Nunzio Mazzaferro that reworks Arial's proportions while keeping its anonymous, information-driven character.

About

Built on the skeleton of Arial but with attention paid to its longstanding shortcomings, Ronzino aims for the same neutral, workaday register without the compromises of its source material. The family spans three weights with obliques, includes small capitals and alternate letterforms for 'a' and 'g', and covers extended Latin. Released under the SIL Open Font License, it positions itself as a free, considered alternative to the ubiquitous grotesques that dominate default system stacks.

Classification

Positioned as a reworking of Arial, Ronzino belongs firmly in the neo-grotesque tradition: anonymous, information-driven letterforms with even stroke weight and minimal personality markers.
