Designed by Jules Durand and released in 2020 under the SIL Open Font License, Sinistre blends Uncial minuscule with Roman proportions and faint Fraktur references. Soft letterforms are offset by sharp terminations, pulling the design away from straight revival and towards something usable for contemporary titling. Cyrillic support was added by Varya Goncharova, extending the family's reach beyond Latin.
