CMM Modul
Comma Type · Anna Cairns · 2024

A modular geometric display face by Anna Cairns that toggles between playful naiveté and constructivist rigidity through OpenType alternates.
About
Each letterform is assembled from a minimal set of shared modules, giving the family a consistent structural logic that can read as architectural or childlike depending on context. Stylistic sets cover alternative letterforms, a stencil version, square punctuation and a baseline-aligned descender option for tighter line spacing. Released in 2024 after four years of development, it exists as a single Regular weight with considerable character variety packed into OpenType features.
Classification
Built from a small set of repeated modules on a geometric skeleton, it is explicitly designed for display use and sits outside conventional text type categories. The stencil variant and modular construction reinforce its display orientation.
